A lot of people consider Camp Nowhere before they have actually seen it, fair because you know you can not glean away with the things those kids do in proper life. But please, eye the movie first and then mediate it, because otherwise you’ll miss out on a really droll movie. Morris ‘Mud’ Himmel and his friends all have to go to a camp they abominate. So, with the abet of a grownup (who’s not exactly normal!) they get their occupy summer camp. But then the other kids at school win out about it and want to go too. But hey, the more the marrier. It all works out perfectly, for a while. Because what if the parents want a parents day? Camp Nowhere is a really comic movie with some genuine noble quotes by the characters. My fave is: for that fair flushed peer. The actors all do really well in this movie but I consider actor Jonathan Jackson was the best. As Mud he’s humorous, sweet and he can manufacture those hilarious faces (like when the cup-cake falls honest in his hands…) If you want to discover a movie that is droll, not so predictable (maybe the destroy), and filled with very advantageous performances from both the grownups and the kids, I defennitly recommend this one.

I have been reading the reviews, most of which are obviously written by teenagers or preteens.

My husband, also 30something, tuned into this on cable the other night. and we both sat and watched the whole thing. It’s “Lord of the flies” position in original day, but mighty more fun to look.

Christopher Lloyd, best known as “Reverend Jim” on t.v. expose Taxi, and “Doc Brown” in the Befriend to the Future movies is the only known star that shows up in most of the movie. He plays the authority figure throughout the film when the parents’ aren’t.

It’s a “let’s sight how mighty we can gather away with while the parents aren’t looking” movie. and I have to admit, it was pleasing wintry..Both my husband and i were thinking: That is frigid..I wish I could’ve done that. It’s a fantasy for younger teens. Basically, some rich kids pool all their summer camp money together and acquire their contain fantasy camp and their parents reflect that they are all at the camps they were originally supposed to go to for the summer: elephantine camp, computer camp, drama camp.. instead, it’s impartial ‘HAVE FUN ALL SUMMER camp..OR Camp Nowhere at some speed down land that Lloyds’ character finds.

The teens all near together and succor Lloyd from going to jail.

It’s a cute itsy-bitsy film that certainly isn’t one of the most classic of the teen genre, but certainly is racy enough.

A lot of silliness goes on, and eventually chaos!!! the parents want parents day..of course, they have to regain caught eventually, true?

This adaptation of the book was, for a tv movie, surprisingly explicit, and featured the ravishing Rebecca Night (though I’d like to have seen more of her, and heard her talk less, in the movie) . She’s got a nice combination of innocence and seductiveness [if I might effect it that way] and she’s got a glowing figure. Other characters were nice too. It’s too terrible I didn’t look anything of Ms. Louisa Clein’s figure, which was nicely displayed in Island At War. I can voice you though, if this had race on tv (especially in Missouri) they’d have cleave half of it. Collected, not abominable.

‘The tenant in room 7 is cramped, zigzag, and very excited.’ One of my well-liked notice lines from a movie. This is a immense, improper bugdet shlock horror/comedy from the early 80’s. It involves two brothers and their place to rep revenge. I abhor to give anymore away, but this is a cult classic that has spawned a couple of sequels. I haven’t seen them, but I have seen this one, and it’s lots of fun. The sage is definately though-provoking with its flashbacks and the actors will never score any Oscars, but they really befriend to construct this movie. And then there’s the seedy locations. Basically this type of film making is called “using what you got and making the most of it”. And then there’s the special effects….not over the top, but effective enough to fit nicely with the anecdote. The finish motion animation was a tiny cheesy, but then that added to the fun of the movie for me. All in all, I had a large time watching this movie.

Something Queer Video (SWV) did a really immense job with this DVD. I was a small disappointed that the movie was only available in pudgy veil format, but the amount of extras included was truly fabulous. I really enjoyed the allotment where the director goes relieve and tries to locate sure locations from the movie. Tremendous stuff, and handsome complete.

So, in closing, if you want to view a obscene budget, gory, horror/comedy schlockfest that was done really well, procure this movie, if you’ve got the guts. And as an added bonus, accumulate a study of what times square feeble to peep like before it got all cleaned up and ‘disneyfied’. It’s gory. It’s got really cheesy 80’s special effects. The actors ALL have terrible hair.

However, it is an inspiring conception. The two brothers are clearly deeply connected to each other (or, at least they were…) . The emotional conflict between the two (particularly the more “able” brother’s desire to date) is intense and understandable.

There were moments in this movie that were so humorous (that I don’t contemplate were meant to be) that my husband and I unbiased laughed and laughed. Some of the characters are over the top. There were some scenes (particularly the really terrible stop-animation scenes) that made me wince in their gross quality. I’m determined it was reliable film quality at the time; but, now it’s really dreadful.

Overall, it’s one of those films that you probably should eye. Accept a friend who won’t abominate you when it’s over, near to an agreement that this is intentionally quite trashy, and have fun watching a truly unique, truly bizarre flick.

I’ve reviewed this before, so there’s no point doing so again, except that I impress this is said to be the “uncut” version. That’s attractive, it probably means the version I posted a review for was the “lop” version, referring to the film rather than the members that probably distinguish the two versions.

In fact, I was reviewing from seeing the uncut version, and therefore I’m guessing the inequity is a couple of X rated hardcore scenes during the escape/revenge residence time that occur arrive the ruin of the film. If so, you can ignore this version if you already have the faded, because the sex really adds nothing of interest for sleaze fans. Who needs to inspect more of that, considering that 100 such scenes, far obedient in quality, are posted on the alt.binaries.erotica newsgroup alone . . . each day??

I have the R1 Blue Undeground dvd of Bare Leisurely Bars and the film hasn’t looked better. Anamorphic widescreen and UNCUT.

BBB is far kindly to other foreign ‘Chicks In Chains’ movies. The added porno scenes produce the film more sexier of course, but it’s a very pleasant Women’s prison movie in its hold proper.

Now when is someone gonna release an UNCUT dvd of CHAINED HEAT with the sexy Sybil Danning and Linda Blair!?

I mean, a really REALLY colossal TV? If the respond is no, then you probably shouldn’t earn this DVD/VHS. Produce no mistake: MJ to the Max is an IMAX movie, and you’ll be very disappointed when you gaze it at home. About half of the movie has these really annoying picture-in-picture shots, which assume up maybe 25% of the cloak, and made me feel like I was watching streaming videos on the web. I’m distinct this “technique” worked resplendent on a 80-foot-high shroud, but it definitely doesn’t on a regular TV.

In terms of the whisper, the movie also disappoints. It’s nothing more than a rehash of ESPN highlights, except that it is shot at awkward angles and further away from the action. Again, this may have worked on a vast IMAX camouflage, but certainly not on a regular TV. The movie also fails to provide any in-depth behind-the-scenes material.

My 2 cents: Effect your money unless 1) you are a die-hard MJ fan, and/or 2) you have a really really REALLY grand TV.

This is, in my understanding, the finest video/documentary on Michael Jordan. It is head and shoulders above all of the dunk’o'rama highlight fodder which fills all of the other Jordan videos.

The production values are top notch. The colours are smart and the sound is crisp. The voiceover commentary is provided by Laurence Fishburne and sets the tone well. Because the movie was filmed using IMAX technology it has a wide conception of the on-court action which allows the viewer to engage in everything which is happening. The DVD extras are more of an afterthought and do not really bring remarkable to the mix.

As I alluded to before, this film focuses more on Jordan’s leadership and his burning desire to rep, which is a refreshing change.

Jordan is one of my favourite athletes. It is nice to finally recognize a production which actually pays him and his abilities the respect he deserves. I highly recommend this film, even more so to those people who never saw him play prior to his comeback with the Wizards, as they will survey him when he was at the absolute pinnicle of human skill and ability.

I’m floored by the number of reviews here that give this a 1 star review, and then area that they haven’t seen the movies. If you actually compare the narrate quality with these current BDs to previous DVDs, you do watch a broad improvement. Star Wander II, III, and IV have more consistant color and detail then what I saw in the DVDs. In previous editions of ST III, I always noticed an upped inequity in comparison to II and IV: but in this situation, it’s in line with all the other movies. There seems to be a lot of rumors here about what “Digitally Restored” is over “Digitally Remastered” (as TWOK was the only to bag “Digitally Restored”) . A digital restoration is when it’s accessed that there has to be a original edit of the film due to the place of the print (it could be going in and adjusting color levels for consistancy or even digitally painting out blemishes) . It seems Paramount found TWOK to be the only movie in need of a restoration: when you ogle the other movies on a HDTV, you can easily assure that they are coming from an HD master and not an SD upconversion like some are claiming. They compare favorably to other blu-ray movies from all the enormous studios. I search for some of the HD interviews are the same interviews taken from the special edition DVDs: it’s nice to glimpse them in their novel HD resolution (where the studio has obviously been gearing up for HD for several years) . Notice that there’s also some interviews from the special edition DVDs that were shot in SD and have been transfered to this snort (the main one seemed to be ST V) . The only gimmick I glean with the movies is the “unusual” 7.1 sound mixes. I don’t gawk the need in mixing 5.1 to 7.1….but the lossless audio does sound big. This blu-ray residence is a sure improvement over any other issues of the movies. Issues like DNR or restorations are always subjective; but these transfers are marvelous enough that whenever the movies derive a re-issue, I suspect it will be more along the lines of adding more featurettes (or rendering out HD resolutions of the CG shots in the case of TMP) .

Since there are collected more 1 star reviews, I concept I should address the misinformation about what remastering means in relation to Blu-Ray. It’s impossible for any of these movies to have reach from a DV (digital video: SD DVD resolution) because studios have been working in 2k resolutions for awhile. A 2k file is 2048 pixels wide by X number high (it’s a standard that has varying aspects….with some of my 3D files, I work in 2048×2048) . Studios are currently converting to 4k work for modern movies and for film restorations of older titles. So the restoration for TWOK might have been scanned at 4k for the 35mm scenes and 8k for the 70mm VFX. The other movies could have been scanned a number of years ago, but the studio would peaceful have masters that are at least 2k resolutions.

Now studios do not author BDs themselves: they go hire companies to do that. So for a valid HDTV movie, Blu-Ray title, or DVD title the company is getting a copy of the 2k studio master and then remastering for that particular medium: for Blu-Ray, they rescale and process the image to be 1920×1080 at 24 fps….for HDTV, they rescale to 1920×1080 60I, and for DVD, they rescale to 720×480. At this stage, the authoring company then adds particular DNR and compression appropriate for for the medium. When it comes to DNR, some people are more against it then others. I personally don’t feel the DNR is that awful here: there are some scenes in these movies that weren’t processed the scheme I’d like them to….but if they ever do accumulate a remaster, it’s going to be at the HD level: the studio master is unadulterated.

To attain my thoughts….it’s a pity that the reviews here are getting dragged down by mis-information. I gave this location a 4 star review simply because I do 5 stars for the extremely splendid titles on BD. If you have a 100″ TV, then maybe you want to wait for another HD remaster with less DNR. I’m not as anti-DNR as others….but I’d say that it’s not as poor as some fabricate it out to be: I unruffled sight plenty of grain for appropriate scenes, and there’s not sizable edge enhancement going on during scenes with too noteworthy softfocus. And for me, the softfocus issues (only in obvious scenes) and distinct cinematography effects are a lot more glaring then DNR: things that were harder to select up assist when these movies were made, and something that’s niether correctable in a transfer and is more clearly evident in HD. For a 110″ TV DNR issues might be more overwhelming, but for my more modest TV position with spacious 7.1 sound system, I’d say this is a no brainer consume for any passing fan of the series. The movies are marred by some production values that prevent this region from being a “demo” spot, but I believe the transfers do more closely judge the studio masters. All of the movies have never looked or sounded as good: they should be splendid for any passing fan of Star Breeze.

Firstly we are very fortunate in Australia that we glean this place around 2 weeks before the US. The imprint we pay however is that the place costs nearly double here what it is on Amazon (and that is adjusted for the currency dissimilarity) . And despite this I am serene calling it a worthwhile upgrade

Firstly the splendid. The movies see about as excellent as you can reasonably query. For something that did not go through a Lowry or equivalent frame by frame meticulous restoration this is a trustworthy looking location of movies overall (with some reservations as explained below) .

As of writing I have only had a chance to fully notion the first film and sample parts of II and IV. The Motion Portray was thoroughly impressive. Given indecent expecations that it was not a restoration like Wrath of Khan I did not quiz powerful. The visuals were thoroughly spicy and the transfer looks like it was done off of a freshly minted print especially for this transfer. There was a visible lack of marks and scratches on the film. Do a compare against the Director’s Gash DVD and you’ll explore a ample number of blemishes on that version. Interestingly the striking visuals of the Theatrical Version were more compelling visually (and more authentic) than the Director’s Edition on DVD. For the relate I DO NOT LIKE THIS MOVIE but found it compelling viewing until the last act (which becomes a small worthy) . The visual upgrade finally shows what Robert Wise was going for as far as impressive optical effects and these own up surprisingly well 30 years later. So #1 was a worthwhile inspect, prob the most i ever enjoyed this film. The sound was also decent. Not the rotund range worry of today’s best transfers but heavenly enough with generally determined dialogue. I also briefly sampled The Voyage Home and it was generally a gorgeous transfer with a solid soundtrack. The upgrade becomes more noticeable if you then compare to the previous DVD editions. You’ll procure these hard to leer after Blu Ray.

Now for the not so top-notch. Yes, these are theatrical versions and truth be told probably the optimal versions to behold (tighter, less self indulgent and “current”) but it would be nice to have the choice of the Dir ed or modern for completeness. However the most disappointing thing about this area (so far) has been Khan. The packaging notes that this is a fully restored transfer. When putting it in the Blu Ray player I started wondering whether someone substituted the disc on me. From the first half hour or so I watched I noticed the image had a noticeable degradation from the first movie. Likely due to the lower production budget and likely lower quality film stock outmoded. The image had a noticeable lack of sharpness compared to the first film, the sound was rather hollow (seemed like less ADR and more region dialogue, that was at times hard to understand) . If this is a restoration I’d abominate to view the set of the novel elements and I have to wonder whether the restoration work could have been done a lot better. I expected a right showcase for what is considered the best film in the series and so far I was thoroughly underwhelmed. Again it’s better than the DVD edition but should be a lot further improved.

The other noticeable thing was the excessive expend of video noise reduction or otherwise known as grain removal (esp noticeable on The Voyage Home) . The transfer there was generally honorable, but the grain removal made all the faces search for like they were rendered with putty. Unnatural and overly detached. This made the film less though-provoking as subtle facial expressions are lost (or rather smeared away) . The sound here also lacked the depth you would want to hear from the best High Def transfer.

But, on the whole anyone who likes their Wobble should deem picking these up. Even if there is a double, or triple dip coming you can be pleased the films now in the finest quality and technology available today. In our case you pay an arm and a leg for the luxury, but hey…Life is too short. And when they release a edifying edition with more compelling impart, i’ll probably retract it again…and then again a few years later when they approach up with something better again. We preserve buying novel versions of software that are impartial different enough to warrant a respurchase – why would film be any different?

My vote – favorable enough for now, but could have been so noteworthy better…

I admire this feel-good movie! It’s a special treat to glance Sam, Johnny Depp’s quirky, sweet and child-like character, who makes grilled cheese sandwiches with an iron and entertains at a park with his impressive Buster Keaton-like routines. He looks and acts like someone who walked in from another era, maybe even another planet. Sight Depp’s facial expressions — intense and hilarious!

There are heavy moments, such as the bus scene: When the romance between Sam and Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson) is misunderstood, forcing the pair to speed away, Sam comes face to face with the reality of mental illness as Joon becomes severely agitated with the voices in her head. But he never gives up on cherish, finding a blueprint to gain to Joon at the mental hospital by dangling acrobatically unbiased outside her room from a window washer’s perch (my accepted scene) . And yes, there’s a delighted ending.

I watched this movie with my husband and our children (ages 10 and 12) . If you idea to stare Benny & Joon with kids, be aware that abominable words are primitive a couple of times, and there’s a romantic scene between Sam and Joon that’s slightly steamy but not distasteful. Overall, though, the touching sage, dialogue, and humor accomplish this a attractive movie to spy with kids over 9 years of age (younger kids would probably pick up it humdrum) .

Creative tale with fun characters! Some of the almost surreal scenes will replay in your mind to invent you smile and even laugh out loud.

This is a quirky romantic comedy about two people who, deemed as misfits by society, descend in savor with each other. Featuring outstanding performances by the entire cast, this is a film that lets the viewer know that there is, indeed, someone for everyone.

When eccentric Sam (Johnny Depp) enters the lives of a brother and sister, Benny (Aidan Quinn) and Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson), he changes their lives forever. Benny, it seems, is always insecure about his sister who seems to be autistic. He treats her like a baby, making distinct that she is never left alone. Highly intellectual, creative, and advise, Joon, however, chafes a bit under the thumb of her protective older brother, but she does have some issues, as there are sure things that act as triggers for some uncommon behavior on her section.

When Sam begins living with Benny and Joon, acting as a housekeeper-babysitter, Sam treats Joon like a regular person, and before you know it they are falling in care for, each accepting the quirks of the other with complete equanimity. Meanwhile, Benny is attracted to Ruthie (Julianne Moore), who owns the local diner. The only thing is that he cannot seem to concentrate on romance, as he is so disturbed about what the future holds for his sister.

There are some twists and turns in the romances between Sam and Joon, as well as in that of Benny and Ruthie. There are some very droll moments, as well as those filled with helpful pathos. There is also a determined amount of physical comedy reminiscent of that of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. In the hands of the adept Johnny Depp, it works.

This is a film that will be enjoyed by those who appreciate off-beat, beautifully acted films. Bravo!

Also, the stamp is very reasonable if you choose it in this place compared to buying the sets individually. You keep about 30-50 dollars.

Overall if you haven’t gotten into the office yet, now is the time. Once you close watching, you will NOT want it to demolish.

I would fancy the residence as the office is a fave… the plot I got weak was in very bad condition and I seek information from if the spot is the unusual… would hesitate to ever pick broken-down dvd’s here again.
