Dallas Cowboys Lawsuits and Counter Suits

  It appears that anything in connection with the Dallas Cowboys can generate an immense amount of attention nowadays; such is the case of Michael Irvin who appeared to be accused of sexual assault by a woman who’s now referred to as Jane Doe. Michael Irvin is a famous wide receiver who started out his carrier at the University of Miami and subsequently became a professional football player recognized in the Hall of Fame when he joined the Dallas Cowboys.

In accordance with the alleged victim the attack occurred somewhere between the late hours of July 4 or first hrs of July 5 in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Florida. On the other hand, Irvin’s legal representative, Larry Friedman says that these claims are entirely untrue. Concurrently a Seminole tribe spokesperson announced the occurrence was noted to the local law enforcement agency on July 20, 2007 but once the report was filled there seemed to be no longer virtually any forensic proof or surveillance video to back up the accusations.

According to David Lister who’s “Jane Doe’s” attorney, his client and Irvine’s counsel had been in negotiations for a financial settlement for some time now but practically nothing came out of it and since that was the case a civil suit was filed. Irvin’s lawyer described these negotiations attempts at extortion.

Friedman also asserted the woman finally decided to come forward after seeing the now accused football player on a few episodes of the well-liked TV show “Dancing with the Stars.”

Additional analysis on Irvin’s past shows that in 1996 this Hall of Fame football player pleaded no contest to a drug charge and a month or two later that exact same calendar year he was also accused of sexual molestation nonetheless a study revealed that she had made up the entire story.

In an interesting turn of events, Michael Irvin has filed a $100 million countersuit because in accordance with him the lawsuit filed by the girl caused him to be fired from his radio position in spite of this, ESPN claimed in a statement that they had recently decided to cancel the show knowning that Irvin’s long term contract was up. Irvin asserted that these types of accusations are completely false and that they were made in an effort at extortion by the plaintiff whilst capitalizing on the mass media circus that the Super bowl weekend actually is.

It’s exciting to see that not only the current roster of the Dallas Cowboys is generating headlines nowadays with all players being brought back towards the spot light in less than desirable conditions but hey, for anyone who is a hard-core Dallas Cowboys fan then you got really like all this drama.
